Ashley McBryde
About
Hailed by the Los Angeles Times as one of Nashville’s most "reliable and sophisticated songwriters," Ashley McBryde—a GRAMMY, ACM, and CMA award winner and Grand Ole Opry member—continues to deliver hard truths with soulful ferocity. On her new album, Wild, the Arkansas-native threads a captivating narrative over 11 tracks, uncovering the deepest layers of her lived experience. From the grit of growing up in the Ozarks and the shadow of a fundamentalist upbringing to the hard-won reckoning that led to her sobriety, the album is equal parts daring autobiography and a courageous reclamation of her most untamed nature. McBryde’s music is a thrilling collision of timeless country and blistering rock & roll. Her acclaimed catalog includes the landmark 2020 LP Never Will, one of the few albums to garner Country Album of the Year nominations from the ACM, CMA, and GRAMMYs in one season. Recognized by Rolling Stone as an artist with a voice big enough to "slice through the noise" and by SPIN as the "genre’s smartest lyricist," McBryde continues to innovate. Last August, she opened Redemption, a non-alcoholic forward bar on the 5th floor of Eric Church’s Chief’s in Nashville. As she enters this next chapter with unprecedented clarity, McBryde hopes Wild inspires listeners to reconnect with their boldest essence. She notes that the record is dedicated to the part of people that still believes in unrealized dreams, aiming to sing directly to the "wild little kid" that lives inside us.
